Top 8 quick projects for flipping a home

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN:  June 26, 2008 --- House flipping is one of the most proven ways of earning high profits in a short span of time. A good choice is a home with mostly cosmetic problems in an up-and-coming neighborhood.   The most successful house flippers buy these homes and then perform updates and repairs for resale as fast as they can.  When is comes to flipping a home, it's important to know what to fix or change in the shortest period of time.

Traci Kashuba of Win-Win Realty Staging one of Saskatchewan's most respected Accredited Staging Professionals, believes speed is of the essence, since the flipper aims to pay asthe long-run. Kashuba contends that in order to maximize profits, it's important to focus on home improvement projects that can be done quickly and most importantly reduce your risk.  According to Kashuba, this year's top 8 home flipping projects are:

1)        Installing new door/closet hardware
2)        Changing flooring
3)        New coat of paint
4)        Installing new kitchen/bathroom faucets
5)        New appliances
7)        Changing kitchen/bathroom countertops
8)         Landscaping the outdoors

"Many home flippers are too busy to take on big, complicated projects," said Kashuba. "That's why these home flipping projects are so appealing. They're economical and so easy to do. Who doesn't like adding flair to a home they are about to flip without breaking the bank? Let's face it; the return you get on your investment can prove invaluable."

"A majority of home flippers focus their upgrading investments in the kitchen and the bathroom, rooms in which the return has been traditionally high. This Top 8 list reflects just that," said Kashuba although there are other options available for home flippers who wish to concentrate on different areas of their home."

"We're thrilled to see installing door hardware and new faucets on the Top 8 quick projects for flipping a home," said Mark Wallace, Canadian Marketing Manager-Black & Decker, Hardware and Home Improvement Group. "For a relatively minor cost, home flippers can install a stylish lockset or faucet that is sure to tweak the interest of a prospective home buyer.
